Winter Care and Acupuncture
It turns out how we measure time has a history: In the western world, time became rigid when mechanical time was introduced, financed by the medieval church.
Before that time was fluid. Hours of the day were shorter or longer depending on the season and amount of daylight.
As the sun fades away, the darkness encourages us to slow down. It’s in our nature to want to retreat and get more sleep.
Sometimes we get so used to ‘revving’ at a high speed, rest can be daunting, or even unnerving. Who would we be if we didn't push so much? Because the body adapts, we don’t even realize how much rest we need. We just reach for more distraction (or caffeine) to not slow down.
We are in a season of hibernation, retreat. If not practiced, it can feel scary. But there’s nothing to be afraid of. It’s only you meeting you.
For a gentle yet profound reset to the system, try acupuncture. There are specific points used for each season, helping rebalance the system.
Give your nervous system a break. It’s a gift to you.
