Veterans and Acupuncture

Did you know the military has used acupuncture for years?

Ever pragmatic, the army and other branches have looked to acupuncture as a low cost and effective treatment for pain, and as an alternative to opioids.

Ear acpuncture is used in what’s called Battlefield acupuncture. Here’s an article from the US Army explaining is use.

Acupuncture is used to aid soldiers recovering from PTSD and other injuries from combat. Fort Bliss in Texas was one of the first to include in its program.

Escape Fire, a documentary about healthcare in the US features a section on acupuncture for returning soldiers. (its available on Amazon Prime, and a good watch in general about our current healthcare system.)

Additionally, the Veteran’s Administration has a generous program covering acupuncture for Veterans.

Knowing the injuries and pain many soldiers face, both mentally and physically, its good to see acupuncture’s use to help.
